You won't find the "Action at Cottonwood" in any textbook but here it is nonetheless, history notwithstanding. ;o)

In 1865 the remnants of two infantry commands and the lone remaining piece of an artillery battery take up a defensive position in hopes of halting the Yankee advance through Yavapai County.

Both young cadets and older members of the local home militia step forward. The South needs every man.

The town of Cottonwood burns in the background as the infantry form up. Camp Verde or the town of Jerome may be next if the Yanks can't be stopped here.
